Established in 1991 by Sir James Dyson, the British company initially licensed its cyclone and electric motor technology to other appliance firms. In 2001, they entered the market directly with Dyson-branded vacuum cleaners.

In 2009, Dyson began marketing other technologies including the AirBlade hand dryer. The AirBlade was received favorably and continues to be a highly regarded option in the commercial hand dryer space – both for its unique design and impressive performance.
