Maximum Resiliency Means Minimal HDPE Maintenance
Unlike other materials with an outer shell and inner core made from different materials, HDPE plastic is solid throughout. Scratches to the surface do not leave visible marks. The mark is the same color as the surface. This property gives solid plastic an incredible edge in durability and appearance.
When a significant cut or scratch does present on the material, help the damage fade by gently rubbing the surface with a dense rounded object. Apply light pressure and avoid tools that may further damage the surface.
HDPE Solid Plastic Cleaning
Cleaning isn’t just a benefit to appearance. When you clean panels, doors, pilasters, AND hardware, replacement parts are not needed as often. Be sure to use a method that is suited to your level of dirt or staining.
For general soiling, use water and a mild cleaner. General soiling includes light stains, drips, and spills. After applying the mild cleaner, make sure to wash (with fresh water) and dry the area thoroughly.
For tougher stains, we suggest a cleaning solution containing 1/2 cup of household detergent, 2/3 cup of trisodium phosphate, and 1 gallon of water. This solution helps breaks down more difficult stains before wiping. Again, rinsing and drying are necessary afterward.
For other issues, a good rule of thumb is to avoid any cleaning powders, pads, and creams that are abrasive.
